Hi! I am Dale Gillilan. I am looking forward to being your Guide for the next step on your path through this wonderful experience we call life. Let me tell you a little about my personal philosophy and then I’ll give you a quick tour of my history and experience. Philosophy My philosophy, as it relates to education, counseling and coaching is simple. I am here to guide and assist you in your personal journey of discovery and empowerment. I view this as a very sacred Journey and my job is to assist and guide you. A Tai Chi Master friend of mine once said, “It is better to be a guide on the side then a sage on the stage.” This is your Journey, your “show”, and you are the center of attention. I view the Student-Teacher relationship as sacred. I will do all I can to help you make your Journey one that brings you great joy. Experience I have over 45 years training in martial arts, energy systems and techniques for self-discovery, and over 35 years teaching. I was named Instructor of the Year and my school was selected as one of the Top 10 Schools in North America. I have trained Olympic team coaches, Hollywood actors, executives and students. I am a registered mental health counselor in Washington and have been a professional Master Clinical Hypnotherapist for 20 years. I have done as many as 3000 clinical sessions in one year. I have been a part-time faculty at Brigham Young University and have taught in a private school system. I am a Reiki Master, an Avatar Master and Wizard, and a skilled Shaman. I have been a missionary and minister. I am a Master Mason and an elected member of the York Rite College. I have studied and taught esoteric healing systems, mystical and medical herbalism and outdoor survival skills. I will often take groups into the deserts of the Southwest to experience the power of ancient sacred places, or into the mountains in the winter to camp in snow caves and meditate in ice-filled rivers. My passion It has not always been easy for me. Although I grew up in a very loving family, I was fiercely independent and I went out into the world at the tender age of 16. (Perhaps you have felt that spirit of independence gnawing at you as well...) I failed more times than I care to remember. More than once I did not know how I would feed my children that night, or whether we would still have a roof over our heads. But, through it all, I perservered. I kept searching. And, I learned valuable lessons. I learned from my "mistakes". When Thomas Edison was asked about his "failure" to produce a working light bulb, he replied, "I have not failed. I know 1000 ways not to build a light bulb." My approach was similar, and it paid off. I learned how to succeed. I learned how to tap into sources of power hidden deep within each of us. I also learned compassion. What it's like to struggle, to do without, to feel trapped. And, that compassion became my passion. One of my greatest joys in life is to see an individual realize their personal power and to recognize that they have a purpose in life. When we realize how truly powerful we are, our life makes major changes. I am grateful to witness that unfoldment and to participate in it. I would like to share that with you. Email me with your questions, or get started now. |
